Refinished French Table with 4 chairs and a Bench

I am so excited to show you this beautiful refinished French table.  This table was a labor of love to say the least.
When I first picked up this table from a thrift store it was cover in epoxy.  It looked like someone had tried to pour it over the table top and unfortunately it didn't go as planned.  This table was so beautiful I bought it anyway hoping to bring it back to life.

After many hours and a lot of paint stripper I got every last bit of the epoxy off and managed to save the top!  I am so glad it work, as you can see this table is beautiful!  I love the legs and the fun curves!

I added this darling bench to this table for added seating.  Would you guess this bench used to be a coffee table?  It was a little low for seating so I added some extra height under the wood top making it the perfect bench!

These captain chairs are one of my favorites!  The pleated skirt is so cute, and is also a great option for upholstered seats.  If someone spills on them just untie them, hand wash them and you will have new clean chairs!  Mine have worked awesome with my kids!

And I love these chairs, they are similar to the captain chairs but just enough different to add that custom feel.

I added these rose appliqués to all 4 legs to add some character!

And of course what is a beautiful table with out fresh flowers?!

More On My Fall Decor

The weather is finally starting to cool off which means fall is in the air!

I am loving fabric pumpkins this year, they are so fun yet elegant.  I made these pumpkins out of scraps of fabric I had in the basement.  The big one is made out of a drop cloth and the little one is made from quilting fabric.  I used lace and burlap to add a little texture to the top.

I found these 3 cute pumpkins at Joann's this year, I am a sucker for glitter!  I always find a way to get a little bling in!  The burlap flowers my mom gave to me when I had our 3rd child, I think they are the only flower arrangement I have managed to keep alive

And I can't forget my favorite part of my fall decor, my moss wood picture.  I made this picture out of strips of old wood that had naturally grown moss.  I added a few burlap leaves for more texture and I just can't get enough of this beauty!!

DIY Painted Clock and a Gallery Wall

This clock sits on the landing at the top of our stairs.  Our landing is a little awkward to decorate as it has skinny walls in-between all the doors and this light switch messed all my plans.  Until I decided to incorporate it into the design.

And here is the after!

I wanted a fun wall to share a little bit about my family and some things I love.
The flash card is what makes up our family 2 parents + 3 kids (by Cherry Hallow Lane)
The L is for Larsen
The little white frame says "you make me happy"
There are sheets of music in the round frames because my girls love to sing
The pallet "always be thankful" serves as a reminder (by Cotton Magnolia)
The shutter was my husbands great grandma's
And obviously love...because we love each other (by Hello Heidi)
The gold frame and hanger are just some fun things I have collected over the years.
I made the circle out of old reclaimed moldings and the arrow I made out of pallet wood.

I used DecoArts Chalky Finish paint to paint my clock.  You don't have to sand with their paint so it made for a super easy inside job.
I used DecoArts Twinkle Writer Glitter for my love.  It definitely takes the mess out of glittering something and I love how it dries so sparkly and it doesn't flake off!

Fall Decorating Part 2

This Fall I wanted to add some natural elements into my decorating as well!

These 3 pumpkins were chosen by my kids, I would say they did a pretty great job don't ya think?  They will be the pumpkins they carve, but until then them make a pretty vignette by my front door.  The Hydrangeas are real, I bought them at Costco.  Our Costco has an amazing selection of real flowers they are always so beautiful and full.  It is hard for me to just bring home one bunch.
The wreath around the top pumpkins is one of my boxwood wreaths that has begun to yellow, perfect for fall!

Front Door Overhaul

Here is our house after we ripped out the dryscape and planted grass and replaced the vinyl siding with hardy board. (you can see that full renovation here)  I loved the way it turned out, there were still a few things we wanted to do like replace the bottom windows and get a new door but it was great for the time being.   After about 4 years the paint on the door started to bubble and chip all the way down to the metal.  I knew it was time to either refinish the door or replace it.  I started looking around for new doors but the ones a really wanted were around $3000 and unfortunately that isn't in the budget right now.

I started sanding down the door but it became apparent very quickly that the entire door needed to be striped down to the metal in order to get a smooth finish.  Plus, this door had many coats of paint on it.

DIY Fall Banner

It is raining here and a little chilly.  Which makes the perfect day for some hot cider and a fall banner!
